Last week we were focusing on the question, “What are you willing to sacrifice for the Gospel?” Esther was willing to literally put her life on the line in order to save the lives of all the Jews in the Persian Empire.
That’s where our story left off last week at the end of chapter 4.
She was going to start fasting and praying. Mordecai was going to hold a fast and pray for her.
Well, now, her fast is ended. And she takes that first step towards the king. She takes the first step into an uncertain future. But she takes the first step trusting in God’s provisions.
And, guess what…it all works out.
For Esther, her life is spared. The king holds out the golden scepter to her. She asks the king for a favor. And, before he even knows what it is, he says, “Yes.”
When you take a step forward willing to speak God’s Word to people, God is there. God is active. And God’s Word works.
God’s Word works.
You don’t have to have fancy words or eloquent speech. But, when you make yourself available to others in genuine relationships for the sake of the Gospel, God blesses that. He truly does.
So, what are you waiting for?
Take the first step.
Alive in Christ,
