Spring is bringing changes!

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Amanda and I are back from our “spring break”! We were up in Edmonton, AB seeing Amanda’s immediate family. I enjoyed seeing the future in-laws and Amanda’s siblings. I thank God for this family that I will be joining into in about 85 days (as of the writing of this letter).

Our semesters are going well. It is nice to get back into the routine of classes and work after a week of R&R. There are 6 ½ weeks of classes remaining! Call Day is not too far away!

As a friendly reminder, Call Day is May 1 and the Vicarage/Internship service is at 3:00 PM. Amanda and I will be attending that service because we are going out on Vicarage/Internship this coming August for the year. Amanda has a year-long internship as a requirement for her masters just like I have the Vicarage requirement for the M.Div. As of today, March 27, 2019, we are being placed at the same congregation (though location has not been disclosed).

We know we are going somewhere that currently has a vicar and has had vicars for years. We are very excited to learn where we are going. We ask for your prayers throughout this process. This process is a tad nerve-wracking, but we trust in the Lord that he is in control of our lives.

My May newsletter will let you know where Amanda and I are going! We have a busy summer incoming, so prayers are greatly appreciated. With Call Day, the wedding, and moving in July, Amanda and I could really use your prayers. Indeed, spring and summer 2019 are ushering in many changes in our lives.

Lastly, I would like to thank you for your support both with prayers and financial giving. Your financial support has limited my debt-burden. I cannot express enough gratitude for your generosity and willingness to support future church workers at Concordia Seminary like myself. Thank you!

That is about it for now. So, in the meantime, how may I pray for you? I encourage you to contact me if you have questions or want to talk. Please feel free to send me a letter or give a call. I look forward to talking with you soon.

God’s Richest Blessings in Christ,

Matthew C. Berry
