TO ALL VISITORS ATTENDING WORSHIP THIS MORNING:  We are thankful that you are worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus with us.  Part of worshiping our Lord is bringing our financial gifts in the form of offerings to support the ministry of Christ’s church.  As our guest today, please do not feel obligated to give an offering.  We are just thankful that you are here and hope you will continue to worship with us. Want to give your offerings online? Go to www.copperluth.org/give.

HOLY COMMUNION: In preparation to receive the Lord’s Supper, please ask yourself these questions: Have I confessed and repented of my sins? Do I believe that in this Sacrament I am receiving the actual body and blood of Christ, under the bread and wine, into my mouth, for the forgiveness of my sins? Do I share the confession and wish to participate in the unity of this congregation? Will I, with the Lord’s help, amend my sinful life? If you answer, “yes” to all of these questions, please join us for this blessed gift from God for our forgiveness.

If you need a gluten free wafer, please ask the pastor when you are kneeling at the rail.

Supplies Needed for Church Bags: It’s back-to-school time and that means school supplies are on sale. Please consider donating school supplies to help stock the kids’ church bags. We would appreciate donations of spiral notebooks, pencils, and 24 packs of crayons. You can place any donations in the box marked “Church Bag Donations” in the narthex. Thank you!

Request for Items:  We are collecting items for the welcome bags for college students.  If you are able to donate, the box will be located in the narthex for you to put your items in.  Some suggestions are:  granola bars, candy bars, gum, microwave popcorn, chips, individual microwavable meals (such as macaroni and cheese, Raman noodles, cup of soup), individual juice containers, individual cookies, or whatever other creative ideas you come up with that can be used in individual settings.  We will be collecting from August 19-September 9. Thank you in advance for your help in this ministry of our church.

Financial Peace University, a bibically based curriculum that teaches people how to handle money God’s way. This 9-week class will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more! The class has been transformational for many members of our church and we’re happy to offer it once again. The class is starting October 15-December 10 and will be Monday nights 6:30-8. The cost for the class is $119.

Women’s Bible Study will meet on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month.  The first bible study will be on Sept. 11th  at 10:30 a.m.  All women of the church are invited to attend.

Fall Church Wide Small Group Study: We will be doing another church wide small group study starting after Rally Day, September 8th.  This study is usually 4-5 weeks long and is a great way to get to know each other as we worship together in groups.  For those already in a group or have been in a group in the past, please get with your group leader to make sure you’re set to meet and participate in September/October.  If you’d like to join a group, you can sign up through the forms available on Church Community Builder, the signup on the back table, or by talking directly to Pastor Aaron or our director of groups, Rob Cooke (rob@copperluth.org).  We’ll work to fit you in with an existing group or form some new groups with the people signing up.

Group Leaders – we will have a training to go over the study materials on Sunday, August 26th @11:30am and also on Wednesday, August 29th @6pm.  Please let Rob or Aaron know which one you can attend.

DORCAS SOCIETY Reminders:  1) Will hold its first meeting  for the 2018-19 season on Tuesday, September 18, at 6:30 p.m.  It will be a planning meeting, so no program or Bible Study that evening, but there will be a dessert. We invite all the ladies to join us at our get-togethers.  2) Annual Holiday Bazaar is scheduled for Saturday, November 17, noon-3:00 p.m.  Anyone wishing to provide baked goods, treat for the Tea Table, craft items, or for the white elephant table is welcome to do so. Funds raised go toward missions.  3)  The Advent by Candlelight event will take place on Sunday, December 2, at 6:30 p.m.  Anyone willing to serve on the Planning Committee may contact Nancy Smith or Cathy Paul for further information.  4) LWML Zone 2 Fall Rally is at Our Redeemer Lutheran, Kingsford, on Saturday, September 29.

STAMPS FOR MISSIONS – There is a plastic bag on the bulletin board, near the church mailboxes, where you may place cancelled 1st class postage stamps, commemorative stamps, and foreign stamps, all trimmed to 1/4″.  (No bulk rate stamps are accepted.) The stamps are sent to the North Wisconsin LWML, who sells them to stamp collectors.   Since 1995, $13,602.64 has been sent to support mission projects through this means.
