Hey Everyone,

Thank you to everyone who has been participating in the Lent Challenge. In the past three weeks, we have collected over 1500 items for 31 Backpacks. 31 Backpacks is a local organization that provides food and hygiene items to approximately 190 kids in the Copper Country. The food and hygiene collection challenge will end this Saturday, March 17th, so make sure to get all of your items in by Saturday. Any final items that are brought in on the 18th will still be donated to 31 Backpacks, but not included in the counting challenge.

Although we are concluding the item collection challenge after four weeks, there is still one final challenge, which I alluded to before, which will also benefit 31 Backpacks. We are challenging you to participate in a financial matching challenge. Our goal is to raise additional funds that will go towards the organization being able to purchase additional required supplies.  I mentioned before that the average weekly cost to provide the supplies is $1,000, so my challenge to you all is to see if we can hit at least $1,000, if not more to help this worthwhile organization. The church will match up to $250 of what is donated. I will be announcing the results of the financial matching challenge on Easter Sunday, so you have until Palm Sunday to contribute to the challenge. I want to thank you all again for your generous support through this ongoing challenge. The members of Saints Peter and Paul continue to amaze and inspire me through their generosity of time and support to those in need. If you have any questions, please send me an email at community@copperluth.org.

Many Blessings,
Kerri Mayra
