TO ALL VISITORS ATTENDING WORSHIP THIS MORNING: We are thankful that you are worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus with us. Part of worshiping our Lord is bringing our financial gifts in the form of offerings to support the ministry of Christ’s church. As our guest today, please do not feel obligated to give an offering. We are just thankful that you are here and hope you will continue to worship with us. Want to give your offerings online? Go to www.copperluth.org/give.
HOLY COMMUNION: In preparation to receive the Lord’s Supper, please ask yourself these questions: Have I confessed and repented of my sins? Do I believe that in this Sacrament I am receiving the actual body and blood of Christ, under the bread and wine, into my mouth, for the forgiveness of my sins? Do I share the confession and wish to participate in the unity of this congregation? Will I, with the Lord’s help, amend my sinful life? If you answer, “yes” to all of these questions, please join us for this blessed gift from God for our forgiveness.
If you need a gluten free wafer, please ask the pastor when you are kneeling at the rail.

ATTENTION, THRIVENT MEMBERS – Reminder! You have until March 31, 2018, to direct your 2017 Thrivent Choice Dollars before they expire on that date. Thrivent’s Corporate Office is closed on March 30 (Good Friday) & March 31 (Saturday) so, to ensure that your Choice Dollars directions get processed before the deadline, please do that ASAP. Choice Dollars directed to SS Peter & Paul pay for ‘Spring Student Mission Trips.’ Occasionally, some get used for special needs, or are earmarked by Thrivent members for specific purposes. The Concordia Student House is also on Thrivent’s list of Choice Dollar recipients.
Two Easy Options for directing Choice Dollars: Online at www.Thrivent.com/thriventchoice or Phone at 800-847-4836 and say ‘Thrivent Choice’ at the prompt. The Member Connection Center is open until 6:00 p.m. CT, Monday-Friday. Thank you for generosity! Jean Pemberton, Thrivent Congregational Volunteer Contact.
Lent Challenge: Is Lent a time to give up or to give? As we dig into this question we are issuing a challenge to the congregation to support a local organization, 31 Backpacks, through a weekly challenges ending with one final challenge. 31 Backpacks is a local organization that works to prevent food insecurity for children in four local counties. Every Friday, 31 Backpacks sends home a backpack full of food and hygiene products to students identified by school administrators as being in need. Currently, 31 Backpacks is serving 190 kids in the Copper Country.
The challenge we are issuing to you is the following: collect as many items from the provided list each week with the challenge being that in the proceeding weeks more items are collected than the previous week. Our goal is to donate as many items as possible to 31 Backpacks to offset the growing need. Below you will find the list of items needed. We will kick off the challenge on Sunday, February 18 and continue through the last Sunday of Lent.
There will be a box in the Narthex for items, which can be dropped off at any time during the week. If you have any questions contact Kerri Mayra at firstname.lastname@example.org.
