 The Next New Members Class: It may be a few months away, but we want you to be informed now. Pastor Aaron will be leading a new members class for 5 weeks beginning on Sunday, April 15th. The class will be held from 9:45am-10:45am at church. This class is the formal process for joining the membership of Saints Peter and Paul. There is no obligation to join after going through the class if you would like to sit in simply to learn more about the teaching and practice of our congregation.  SEEKING GROUPS TO HOST LENTEN MEALS: We are seeking groups to host Lenten meals. Maybe it’s your Bible Study, or just a group of friends. The church will cover a good portion of your supply cost, and you can choose the destination of donated funds at the meal. Your menu: 1 Big Pot of Soup, 1 Big Pot of Chili, Salad, Bread, and Desserts. Sign up in the narthex or email

LENTEN SERVICES: Our Lenten Services will be on Wed., Feb. 14th (Ash Wed., w/comm.), Feb. 21st  & 28th, Mar. 7th, 14th, & 21st. Suppers will be provided before each service at 6:00 p.m.  Services will begin at 7:00 p.m.

 EASTER FLOWERS:  Anyone wishing to order Easter Flowers (Tulips, Hyacinths, Daffodils or Lilies), please sign the sheet located on the table in the narthex.  Tulips, Hyacinths, and Daffodils are $18.  Lilies are $20.  All orders must be in and paid for by Feb. 25thFlowers that have not been paid for by Feb. 25th will not be ordered.  Thank you.

LENT CHALLENGE: Is Lent a time to give up or to give? As we dig into this question we are issuing a challenge to the congregation to support a local organization, 31 backpacks, through  weekly challenges ending with one final challenge. Stay tuned for additional details in the coming week.

 NOMINATIONS FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS:  Interested in serving in church leadership?  The Board is seeking nominations for three positions.  Deadline for submitting nominations is March 11.  See bulletin insert.

 MISSION TRIP UPDATE: The mission trip to Honduras scheduled to take place in April has been postponed until late fall. If you are interested in participating or would like additional information email Kerri Mayra at

 DORCAS SOCIETY/LWML – Will meet on Tuesday, February 20, starting at 6:30 p.m. with a program by Mike and Cathy Aten, who will share their trip to Africa last year, where they visited their daughter, who is in the Peace Corp.  They will also tell us about the interns working at Little Brothers/Friend of the Elderly.  There will be a business following the presentation by the Atens, as well as a delicious dessert.  We invite all the ladies in our midst to join us that evening.

SENIOR SAINTS – Will hold their next get-together on Thursday, February 22, starting at noon with a lunch.  Program for the day will feature Marshall Plumer, recently retired as a law enforcement ranger at Isle Royale National Park.  He will enlighten us on what all is involved in that capacity, something we don’t usually think about when we hear about the Park.  We invite all seniors at SS Peter & Paul, and friends and family, to join us that day. ATTENTION, THRIVENT MEMBERS – Reminder! You have until March 31, 2018, to direct your 2017 Thrivent Choice Dollars before they expire on that date.  Thrivent’s Corporate Office is closed on March 30 (Good Friday) & March 31 (Saturday) so, to ensure that your Choice Dollars directions get processed before the deadline, please do that ASAP.  Choice Dollars directed to SS Peter & Paul pay for ‘Spring Student Mission Trips.’  Occasionally, some get used for special needs, or are earmarked by Thrivent members for specific purposes.  The Concordia Student House is also on Thrivent’s list of Choice Dollar recipients.
