Community Updates

It continues to amaze me with the level of generosity and support that exists within the congregation at Saints Peter and Paul. It is a busy time of year for us in regards to community engagement and I wanted to share a handful of updates on ongoing projects and other opportunities to consider participating in.

Mission Trip
We are in the process of seeking out interested individuals or families who would like to participate in the mission trip to Honduras in April 2018. There will be an information session on Monday, December 4 at 5:30pm to address any questions or concerns that you may have regarding participating. We will be video chatting with David Kim from Glocal Mission, who is organizing the mission trip. If you are planning to attend and have questions in mind, please send them to by Tuesday, November 28. We ask for prayers and support in this process.

A Message from Sam and Denise Coates on Operation Christmas Child
A very sincere thank you to all in our congregation who contributed to the success of this year’s OCC Mission Project. We also acknowledge the generous outside assistance received from Mike and Marie Cleveland, Thrivent Financial and Walmart. We donated a total of 226 boxes and $2,065, and while we didn’t reach our goal of 250 boxes, overall this was our best year ever. Please pray for the dedicated Samaritans Purse workers, along with the millions of children worldwide who will receive the boxes along with a 12-week follow-up discipleship program. Pray that the kids, their families, and their communities will come to know the Love of Christ …. as a result of a simple gift!!

Winter Clothing Drive
Thank you to all of you who have generously donated clothing to the upcoming winter clothing drive. It is awe-inspiring to walk past the Narthex and see the overflowing box of donations that you have provided. Please tune in for additional details as our wonderful organizers solidify details on how they will be distributing the collected clothing.

Keep an Eye Out
There is so much that is going on and not enough time and space to provide all of the details. I hope to continue to provide you all with both updates and opportunities for involvement as the season and year progresses. I hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Many blessings,
Kerri Mayra
