The Garden

Despite the cold and snow, the families of The Garden came together one last time to end the season. The last of the produce was bagged up, the plants pulled out and the beds turned over in preparation for another year. The families spent time talking and laughing while they worked. Even the children pitched in by pulling up plants or providing some entertainment for those around them. With the last of the plants pulled up and the garden beds turned, the garden was closed up for another year.  After all of the work was completed, the families headed inside to share a meal and time of fellowship. Each family brought a prepared dish to pass and spent time together sharing their lives, stories and learning from one another. As you looked around, each person had a smile on their face and there was laughter in the air. It was awe-inspiring to see the dedication of the families and the community that grew through this project. We are truly blessed to have the ability to build these special relationships through opportunities such as the garden. I look forward to next year and the opportunities that God will provide in bring families together.

Operation Christmas Child
We are down to our final week of Operation Christmas Child. Your generosity continues to amaze me as filled boxes and donations continue to come in. The deadline for returned boxes, donated items or monetary donations is next Sunday, November 12, 2017. We have collected 58 boxes, with additional loose items donated, and have raised approximately $560 dollars donated. Anyone who has taken a box to fill we ask that you return the filled box and consider providing a $9 donation to cover shipping costs. The goal this year is to fill 250 boxes and raise $2,000. If you have not had the chance to participate in this opportunity, I would strongly encourage you to consider the impact that you could make to a child in need. It is more than just the gift; it is also a chance for them to have their first interaction with Jesus through the bible study they receive. If you have any questions, email Sam and Denise Coates at bdcoates@wildblue.net.

Many blessings,
Kerri Mayra
