TO ALL VISITORS ATTENDING WORSHIP THIS MORNING: We are thankful that you are worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus with us. Part of worshiping our Lord is bringing our financial gifts in the form of offerings to support the ministry of Christ’s church. As our guest today, please do not feel obligated to give an offering. We are just thankful that you are here and hope you will continue to worship with us. Want to give your offerings online? Go to www.copperluth.org/give or text “copperluth” to 77977 from your smartphone to get started.
HOLY COMMUNION: In preparation to receive the Lord’s Supper, please ask yourself these questions: Have I confessed and repented of my sins? Do I believe that in this Sacrament I am receiving the actual body and blood of Christ, under the bread and wine, into my mouth, for the forgiveness of my sins? Do I share the confession and wish to participate in the unity of this congregation? Will I, with the Lord’s help, amend my sinful life? If you answer, “yes” to all of these questions, please join us for this blessed gift from God for our forgiveness.
If you need a gluten free wafer, please ask the pastor when you are kneeling at the rail.

Church Communications Updates
We have some new communications methods that we want to make sure you are receiving, if you desire.
- Wednesday Morning Weekly Update Email
If you’re not receiving this, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the list. Or, check your spam folder in your email.
- *NEW Church App for mobile phones and tablets (Apple, Android, Windows, Amazon) Go to the app store on your device and search for “Saints Peter and Paul” and you’ll see it.
NEW MEMBER’ CLASS: Pastor Aaron will be leading a new members class for 4 weeks beginning on Sunday, October 8th. The class will be held from 9:45am-10:45am at church. This class is the formal process for joining the membership of Saints Peter and Paul. There is no obligation to join after going through the class if you would like to sit in simply to learn more about the teaching and practice of our congregation. Sign up at copperluth.org/newmembers or on the sign-up table in the narthex.
ADULT BIBLE CLASS BEGINS TODAY: Join us in the gym at 10am for an adult Bible class while the kids are in Sunday School. Grab a donut, a coffee, and enjoy digging deeper into the lesson/topic that Pastor Aaron is preaching on for the day.
PRAISE TEAM MUSICIANS: The praise team is always looking to add and expand talent to lead the congregation in worship. If you play an instrument or sing and would like to be involved (you only have to commit to as much as you want), let Pastor Aaron know: email@example.com
SPECIAL MUSIC: During the late service this morning, we would like to thank Bethany Leonard, Emily Fiala, and Ardys Maki for providing special music. They will play “Abide with Me” for the Prelude and “Evening Prayer” for the Offertory.
DORCAS SOCIETY/LWML – Our first meeting for the new year is Tuesday, 9-19-17, at 6:30 p.m. It will be a planning meeting for programs, Bible Studies, monthly hostess signups. A dessert will be provided. We invite all the ladies of our congregation to come to our meetings, which are the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted. We welcome ‘new blood’ in our group.
The 71st Annual Holiday Bazaar, Bake Sale, & Tea is scheduled for Saturday, 11-18-17, noon-3:00 p.m. This early notice allows time to mark your calendars. Donations of baked goods, crafts, goodies for the tea table, and items for the White Elephant table are welcomed, along with anyone who would like to work at it with us. Funds raised go toward various mission projects.
The month of October has been designated for SS Peter & Paul to raise funds for the local Life Outreach Center in Houghton with the handing out of empty baby bottles, which may be returned, filled with cash and coins. This is in lieu of the past similar event, with the money going only to the Life Outreach Center. They do so much work in the area for “life.” Executive Director of the Center is our church member Jennifer DePuydt-Saari.
SENIOR SAINTS – will meet on Thursday, 9-28-17, starting with lunch at noon. The program will feature Dr. Jim and Susan Kaiser, who are part of a partnership between Lutheran Bible Translators and the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus 9EECMY), the largest Lutheran church in Africa. We encourage all seniors in our midst to join us that day. It will be a special event so it would be nice to have a good turnout from our congregation. The Kaisers also have a personal connection with SS Peter & Paul, as two of their sons were activate participants here during their time at MTU several years ago. In addition, Susan is a cousin of Julie and Carla Gades. Please contact John or Jean Pemberton (487-9412), if questions.
CHOIR accompanist and director needed. The choir typically sings for the late service twice a month. Contact Maura Leinonen (Maura.firstname.lastname@example.org) or Pastor if interested. Choir start-up information will follow.
