TO ALL VISITORS ATTENDING WORSHIP THIS MORNING:  We are thankful that you are worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus with us.  Part of worshiping our Lord is bringing our financial gifts in the form of offerings to support the ministry of Christ’s church.  As our guest today, please do not feel obligated to give an offering.  We are just thankful that you are here and hope you will continue to worship with us. Want to give your offerings online? Go to www.copperluth.org/give or text “copperluth” to 77977 from your smartphone to get started.

HOLY COMMUNION: In preparation to receive the Lord’s Supper, please ask yourself these questions: Have I confessed and repented of my sins? Do I believe that in this Sacrament I am receiving the actual body and blood of Christ, under the bread and wine, into my mouth, for the forgiveness of my sins? Do I share the confession and wish to participate in the unity of this congregation? Will I, with the Lord’s help, amend my sinful life? If you answer, “yes” to all of these questions, please join us for this blessed gift from God for our forgiveness.

If you need a gluten free wafer, please ask the pastor when you are kneeling at the rail.

MISSED A SERVICE?  Watch archive sermons at www.copperluth.org/sermon-archive.

Rally Day is a day set aside to reassemble or “rally” after the relatively quiet summer. This year Rally Day is on September 10. If you are a parent, a child, an adult, or really anyone at all, we hope you celebrate Rally Day by attending our 10:00am service, followed by a potluck lunch. Bring a dish to pass!

Activities at Rally Day include:
– Bounce House and other games for kids
– Register your kids for Sunday school
– Learn more about ministry opportunities- Launch of our Fall Kick-Off Event themed “People of Hope” (sermons and small group studies)

DONATIONS FOR HOUSTON TX: Today we will be taking a door collection to be sent directly to the Texas District of the LCMS which will distribute 100% of gifts to those in need. If you want to donate online, please do that directly at https://txlcms.org/how-can-i-help-hurricane-harvey/

Fall Church-wide Bible Study and Small Groups: Our fall Rally Day and Ministry kickoff is coming up on September 10th.  We will again be having a church-wide small group Bible Study that goes with the sermon series.  For those of you in existing small groups, please contact your group leader for more information and to coordinate what night during the week you want to meet (if you aren’t already meeting!).  For those who have not participated in this before, we would like to encourage and invite you to be part of a group.  Groups commit to meeting once a week for the 4 weeks after Rally Day and, in some cases, continue on after.  If you would like to participate in a group, please either a) Sign up on the sheet in the Narthex, b) fill out the interest form in CCB: https://saintspeterandpaul.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=57 , or c) talk to the Director of Groups, Rob and Anne Cooke – 906-231-7769rob@copperluth.org or rob.cooke@gsengineering.com.  Please sign up/register by September 3rd (sooner is better) so we can coordinate any new groups we need to form)”

DORCAS SOCIETY/LWML – Our first meeting for the new year is Tuesday, 9-19-17, at 6:30 p.m.  It will be a planning meeting for programs, Bible Studies, monthly hostess signups.  A dessert will be provided.  We invite all the ladies of our congregation to come to our meetings, which are the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted.  We welcome ‘new blood’ in our group.
The 71st Annual Holiday Bazaar, Bake Sale, & Tea is scheduled for Saturday, 11-18-17, noon-3:00 p.m.  This early notice allows time to mark your calendars.  Donations of baked goods, crafts, goodies for the tea table, and items for the White Elephant table are welcomed, along with anyone who would like to work at it with us.  Funds raised go toward various mission projects.
The month of October has been designated for SS Peter & Paul to raise funds for the local Life Outreach Center in Houghton with the handing out of empty baby bottles, which may be returned, filled with cash and coins.  This is in lieu of the past similar event, with the money going only to the Life Outreach Center.  They do so much work in the area for “life.”  Executive Director of the Center is our church member Jennifer DePuydt-Saari.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 12th at 10:30 a.m. They meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.  The topic is “Angels, Standing Guard”.  All women are invited to attend.

Parents Day Out will run once again from 9am-1pm on Wednesdays beginning with a registration day on September 13th. PDO is for kids 18 months-5 years old. Contact Brenna Williams: brennalwilliams@yahoo.com or 370-7858 if you’d like to register a child for the program. Brenna is also in need of volunteers to help with the program from time to time. If you’re available and interested, please contact her!

Sunday School Registration: Sunday School will begin on September 17th @9:45am. Please bring your kids directly to their classrooms. Register online at www.copperluth.org/ssregistration. In person registration will occur on Rally Day, September 10th!
