Well friends – sorry I missed getting a sermon preview out to you last Wednesday! Our newest daughter, Phoebe Grace was born last Wednesday afternoon. We give God thanks for a healthy birth and a growing family.
Thank you all for your prayers throughout the pregnancy and we wish for your ongoing prayers as we raise our children to know of the fullness of life that Christ promises us!
As we head into this next week, the theme for this coming Sunday in our 150 Year Old Mission series is “Manifest the Unity of Faith in Jesus Christ as God and Savior.”
We will be especially focused in on the concept of Unity. Oneness.
As we welcome a new child into our home and figure out, now, what it’s like to be a family of 5, we continuously do the same thing as a congregation. As a congregation, we are all unique. We are a whole bunch of individuals. We grow. New people join into this fellowship. And yet, we are part of one, vibrant and growing family that is truly and fully Alive in Christ.
How does unity occur? The Apostle Paul says in Ephesians 4:3, “Make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.” Unity takes work. Constantly. Making every effort to forgive and love as Jesus forgives and loves us. It’s beautiful. And it’s hard. Really hard. But it’s worth it.
Friends, as we continue on mission together, I pray that you all are being wrapped up into the unity that we share in the body of Christ. And I pray that you experience the bond of peace that Jesus promises us.
You all matter. Every one of you. Make every effort to love like Jesus!!
Alive in Christ!
